Artist's Description

A perfect day for photographers at the Saguaro National Park (East Unit) near Tucson, Arizona. This scene is look toward the Rincon Mountains. The day was unusually cool for December in Tucson. The temperature in the desert can still reach into the 90's late in the year. While the main feature of the park are the protected Saguaro cactus there are more than 200 other types of vegetation sheltered within the park. Hikers should be aware that the 92,000 acres are also home to cougars, coyotes, bobcats, white-tailed and mule deer, javelinas, and 36 reptile species including several varies of rattlesnakes, coral snakes, and Gila monsters.
