Description
Snow on Mount Graham (Safford, Arizona) is present most years through Memorial Day. The spring snow runoff on Mount Graham plays a crucial role in local hydrology and ecology. As the snow melts, it contributes to the formation of streams and rivers, supplying water to downstream areas. This runoff is essential for maintaining the water balance in the region, supporting ecosystems, and providing a water source for various plants and animals. These small runoff streams are usually gone by the end of July unless supplemented by the Monsoon rains. This photograph is a composite of three short time exposures (tripod mounted).
