Description
The Cliff Palace is the largest and most famous cliff dwelling in Mesa Verde National Park. It has more than 150 individual rooms and more than 20 kivas (rooms used for religious rituals). The structures are crafted from sandstone, wooden beams and mortar. These dwellings date back more than 700 years and were being established about the time that Robert the Bruce defeated King Edward II at the Battle of Bannockburn.
