This late afternoon photograph of Seal Harbor Beach, Maine was taken just about one hour before high tide. Autumn in New England is a special time of year for color. Those colors are exaggerated by the early morning and late afternoon sun. A local resident is harvesting beach peas, which are apparently eaten uncooked in salads and cooked as a side dish.
